We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Dewan for five days in June 2026 and our experience was excellent from the start to finish of our trip. The hotel facilities are clean, comfortable, and have great ambiance, making it a great place to relax after a day of exploring. What truly made our stay memorable, though, was the exceptional staff. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and always ready to help! A special thank you to Akram and Nuzhat whose kindness, professionalism, and friendly greeting every day made us feel at home. We would also like to thank all the kitchen staff and the chefs for the outstanding food and Kashmiri dishes. Every meal was fresh and delicious, but the soups were especially exceptional and something we looked forward to every day. Thank you to the entire team at Hotel Dewan for your wonderful hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
Positives: Hotel is new, room was clean and spacious. Plumbing and bath amenities are simple but sufficient. Bed is large and soft. Service and housekeeping was quick. Breakfast buffet was simple, but sufficient for Indian tourists, varieties Not wide enough for international tourists. Dinner was sufficient. At the dining area staff are very attentive. hotel has no lake view, though it's walkable from lake. There was a musical playing santoor in evening, which was pleasant. Has no special views, front and back of hotel is facing empty bush covered land and some houses, but not a deal breaker. Has no safety locker, Iron box/board. Staff are somewhat biased towards certain tourists with special treatment and ignore certain demographic. Sometimes noisy with certain tourists as well. The housekeeping staff can knock on the door a little softer. Has a small lawn and chairs in front of hotel, which is nice.
I had a wonderful experience with Nuzha. She was extremely kind, professional, and attentive throughout. Her friendly attitude and excellent service made me feel comfortable and valued. She went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. I truly appreciate her dedication and would highly recommend her. Thank you for the outstanding
We recently stayed at The Dewan and were completely blown by the staff’s generosity and hospitality. The hotel is a walkable distance to Shalimar Bagh and is near to the Dal Lake. Its well maintained and beautified with authentic Kashmiri artsmanship. I would like to extend my appreciation to Mr. Akram for his upfront assistance in getting a great room. Staff members like Tabassum, Nuzhat and Masrat were extremely polite and made sure we felt at home. We stayed in this boutique hotel for 3 nights and must say the service was great. Congratulations to the team!
